Thank you again for raising such a loving, caring breed of dog like the basset. I always knew how special they were, but now that I've seen Evie Jo with Sandra, I just love them all the more. God Bless & keep raising those wonderful puppies. We may be back for another one. As soon as the weather breaks, I'll bring Sandra Jo & Evie Jo to visit. Take care!

Hi John:

My fiancé and I purchased a puppy from you a few weeks ago. He was a Tri-Color that was born on May 30, 2001 to Hanna and Speiser's Litter. We picked him up from you on August 3rd.
WHAT A GREAT PUPPY : )
Not only is "Sammy" the cutest thing that we have ever seen but he has been a joy to live with. We were told that he would be sure to cry the first few nights so we put his crate in the bedroom so he could see us. No crying --- We thought it was luck but still put his crate in the spare bedroom on the second night figuring he would cry , but we didn't want him to get used to sleeping in the master bedroom -- Second night NO CRYING -- and Every night since NO CRYING. He actually seems to like going to his crate to cuddle on his blanket and with his Chew Man. We took him for his first Vet visit and everyone in the office gushed over him -- He also had a great check up - Very Healthy boy.

His house training is going great as well. We took all of your advice that you gave us on the printed sheet we got when we picked him up and it seems to be working well. He has had a few accidents in the house but I think it was actually our fault because we didn't take him out in time. He is getting to the point now where he will let us know he has to go out and he has NEVER gone in his crate. We leave him in the kitchen during the day while we are at work with his food and water, toys and his bed and he seems fine -- When we get home from work we are as happy to see him as he is to see us!!!

I have always admired Bassets from a far but now that I am an owner I am in love! Sammy is one of the best looking bassets I have seen and I am sure he is going to grow up to be very handsome!

I am sure that his handsome look and demeanor, along with his good health are a testament to your kennel --- We have talked to so many other basset owners and they all seem to have stories about their puppies getting sick or them having a hard time with house training, etc. But our dog has NONE of those issues.

I only wish that I had some pictures on line to email you -- I have taken about 3 full rolls of film of him so I will drop a picture in the mail to you. THANK YOU AGAIN.

Mr. Tait,

Well, today I met Samantha, an 18 week old basset that came from you. She was BEAUTIFUL and so well mannered and did I mention BEAUTIFUL.

I have a 7 month old basset who we purchased from what we now believe was a poor breeder (Mennonite Farmer). I plead ignorance. Had I known of the Daily Drool and researched it a little more, I may have come across you and your wonderful dogs or even found a rescue to adopt (almost did have one of those, but he was already adopted.)

Just thought I would pass on some positive feedback to you.

Just thought you'd like to know Wilbur is doing great. He's healthy and
happy. Bailey and Wilbur are getting along great. He's been a real good

Hi John and Ursula,

Jessie our new puppy is doing well. She is housebreaking very well. She rings the bell to go out, sometimes just to play and be outside. Beautiful temperament, a real joy and a pleasure to have. Jessie has adjusted well to our neighbors and visiting their farm.

Jessie is doing well with the self feed method, does not bother us at
all for food. Jessie is very energetic, must be the puppy chow..

Subject: Basset Babies

Dear John,

I wish I wasn't writing this letter to you. A couple of days ago, we lost our Basset that we had purchased from you. He was a very special
dog. He brought so much joy to our family and made a change in my Husbands disposition. He had a way of de-stressing and calming my husband when he came home from work, something that the kids and I were unable to do. His name was Luther, your Mother suggested that
name when we bought him. He also had the nickname of "King Tut", it seemed to suit him because he had all of us bowing to his every need. I can't imagine another dog being as special or more loved than Luther.

I know that there will never be another Luther, they all have their own personalities, but we might be interested in another puppy. We have another Basset living with us, her name is Annie. Annie came to live
with us almost three years ago, the people that she was living with, decided they didn't want her anymore. Annie and Luther became best friends very quickly. She misses Luther. Could you please let me know if you have any puppies ready and what they now cost.

John,
Just a quick note, Annabel did very will on her trip home to Southern Maryland, around 240 miles, she slept most of the time on her step-mother's lap. I have taken her to work for the last two days. You are absolutely right in the fact that your dogs are will on the way to house training. There is a grassy area outside my building and after she gets up from her naps I direct her, she follows me, to that area, and takes care of her business. I'm real proud of her, that it comes so naturally. She is eating very will, I leave the crate door open and she walks in there and takes her puppy naps. I might add, that she knows her name and will come to me when asked to. She has been spending a lot of time with me, so learning is easy for both of us and the rest of the family. Just as I'm finishing this email, she came out of her crate and put her head down on my shoe to get a few more z's. Please tell Ursula thanks for all of the information, demonstrations and answers to our questions.
