Tait's Bassets

Only AKC Registered Basset Hound Puppies Since 1960  

Tait's Bassets is located amongst the picturesque valleys of central Pennsylvania, an easy 4 lane drive from most major East Coast cities. We live about 3 miles east of historic Boalsburg, the birthplace of Memorial Day.  We are also about 7 miles from State College, PA, the home of Penn State University.  Our kennel is located on US 322 between Boalsburg and Potters Mills.

    From Philadelphia:   Approximately 3.5 hours  
    I 76 West (PA Turnpike) to I 283  
    I 283 NW to Harrisburg   
    I 83 North to I 81 South around Harrisburg  

    From Baltimore:   Approximately 3.5 hours  
    (Washington DC, Richmond, and Southeast U.S.)  
    I 83 North to I 81 South around Harrisburg  

    From Harrisburg:   Approximately 1.5 hours  
    US 322 West    
    6.7 mi. past Potters Mills (intersection 322/ PA 144)  
    Tait's Bassets will be on the left  
    (kennel is directly off of US 322)  

    From New York City:  Approximately 5 hours
    (CT, RI, Boston, Eastern New England)
    I 80 west to Bellefonte Exit (rt. 26)
    Rt. 26 South towards State College
    Take US 322 Exit (Before State College and PSU)
    US 322 East towards Lewistown
    Kennel is on the right, 1.7 miles past end of 4 lane

    From Cleveland:  Approximately 4 hours  
    (Toledo, Detroit, Chicago, Northwestern US.)  
    I 80 East to Woodland Exit (follow signs for US 322) 
    US 322 East through Phillipsburg  
    Stay on US 322 East past State College  
    (* not 322 business*)  Follow signs for Lewistown 
    Kennel is on the right, 1.7 miles past end of 4 lane  

    From Pittsburgh:  Approximately 2.5 hours  
    I 376 East to US 22 East through Monroeville  
    US 22 East to US 220 North / I 99 North  
    US 220 North to US 322 East  
    Stay on US 322 East past State College  
    (* not 322 business*)  Follow signs for Lewistown 
    Kennel is on the right, 1.7 miles past end of 4 lane 
       
    From West Virginia, Columbus, Cincinnati, Southwest  
    I 99 North from Bedford, PA (I 76 / I 70 - Turnpike) 
    I 99 / US 220 North to US 322 East  
    Stay on US 322 East past State College  
    (* not 322 business*)  Follow signs for Lewistown 
    Kennel is on the right, 1.7 miles past end of 4 lane
